I lost my 4-year old phone, Samsung Galaxy S5 last November 5. Until now, I don’t know how and where I lost it. All I know was I went to Carrefour (alone) and I still have that phone until I fetched Ate Edna in Othaim Mall. We came home at 7pm that day and I only noticed that my phone is not around when it’s already 10:30pm. So meaning, I didn’t use my phone for almost 3hours that night because I fixed the balikbayan box which I will send it at home (Philippines) soon.
I was in a denial at first because I thought that it was only inside our service car, but Kuya Gholam, our driver, said that it wasn’t there. And then when I searched my phone using the Find my Device app, that app was telling us that my phone was inside the Dammam Housing.
I will try make a story how I’ve tried my best to search my mobile in these following photos:
The location was almost 30mins away from our house and I don’t know how did it get there
With the help of Ate Camille and Kuya Gholam we tried to locate where that place was. We found the area but unfortunately, it was a very big and a lot of buildings one thing more it’s already 11:30pm. If you notice, the blue one was us, while the green one was my phone. It was already near but still I can’t get it.
This is how the place look like outside the building.
November 6, Kuya Gholam and I went to the 1st police station to somehow report that my phone was lost . . . but that police told us there is a police officer inside that Dammam Housing buildings
So we proceeded there and tried to search for that police station inside Dammam Housing..
There are a lot of buildings and gates and I can see that I’m really near to my phone BUT I can’t do anything because this country in not my territory. I’m not allowed to search wherever I want. I can’t not go directly in that that location which the app was pointing us if we are not accompanied by any police.
Well, we found and tried to talk to the police inside the Dammam Housing BUT he said, he can’t do anything because he was only incharged to stay in that police station room. Kuya Gholam even tried to ask if we can go and search nin the area since I have that find my device app, BUT *sigh* *deep breath*, he was only amazed with that app.
So that police called someone over the phone and then told us that we need to go in the main police station in Dammam to report the case so we did.
But these was the worst, as we go down, Kuya Gholam told them that are working in Ram and that he was the driver and I’m nurse there… Then suddenly Kuya Gholam was telling me “khalas”/finish bc they told him that if I will report it,I need to be with our Modir/Manager and not with the driver. *holy cow*
And that’s it, after we went in that last station, I already told myself to accept that my phone will no longer come back to me.
One Doctor even told me that, and quote, “Don’t expect that the police can find your phone, if they can’t find a lost gold how much more to a lost phone even if you that application. I can prove that since I’m already staying here for a very long time.” *sigh again* I just want to say good luck to every police man in this country. I know you are not all the same as what those police who did nothing but to tell us to go here, go there. **Lord God, please bless this country.**
My only wish for now was I hope that the one who found my phone needs a money so he/she could sell my phone and use the money for his/her needs or I hope he/she is not a hack my accounts even I already locked and blocked my phone.
And now, I would like to say, thank you to my Samsung S5 for standing beside me since I graduated College. Thank you for getting stronger even if I dropped you so often. I hope you are happy wherever you are now…
And also, thank you to Kuya Gholam for accompanying me to search my phone even if we failed, you never give up until I didn’t. Shukran Kuya.
